Experience and research results on the application of advanced technology show that education and training play an important role in improving the productivity of agriculture especially in the context of restructuring direction of the agriculture sector towards higher value and sustainable. In the recent years, the practice of applying advanced technologies in agriculture production has achieved certain positive success after the implementation of the new rural development and training for farmer programmes. However, there is still limitations in the application of modern technology in meeting the expectation in the restructuring the agriculture orientation. This paper aims to assess the current status of the education and training for the application of modern technology in agriculture production in areas on the whole country. That assessment will serves as the basis for the recommendation for the improved approach in education and training for the wider application of technology in daily agriculture practice.

Estimating the concentration of suspended sediment has an important role in the studies morphology, water quality in estuaries and coastal areas. This study uses remote sensing data to determine the relationship between the reflectance spectrum from satellite imagery and suspended sediment concentrations at Ma estuary in Thanh Hoa province from field measurements and analysis of satellite imagery. The results showed that the relationship between the reflectance spectrum from satellite imagery (Landsat-8 OLI) and concentrations follow quadratic polynomial (R2 = 0.74). The results of this study initially setup a orientation study related to use satellite images to determine the concentration of suspentded sediment at the Ma estuary in paticular and further in central region of Vietnam in general.

This paper presents results of studying, implementing drain waterbelt to collect and gather water under wetlands located in mountain areas of Son La province, in order to provide fresh water for people life in communes which are suffer from very dry climate and poor economy. This R&D project was funded by Son La Department of Science and Technology, Center of water and rural environment salination is in chart of project owner, with Hydraulic construction is in role of technology transfer. During process of R&D activities, the author have some valuable innovation performs for transferred sub-surface dam structures in order to profit with particular conditions of site. Project results were successfully applied in Ban Soi village, Bo Muoi commune, Thuan Chau Dist., Son La Province.

Optimal operation of multiple purposes reservoir systems is attracting the attention of scientists. One of the main content of the research is the computational simulation of inflow to the reservoir. This paper presents the results of using the Monte-Carlo simulation method through Crystal Ball software to calculate the probability distribution ofthe measured inflow data to a large reservoirs on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river system (including the reservoirs namely A Vuong, Song Tranh 2, DakMil 4 and Song Bung 4), from which researchers have successfully simulated the inflow of the four above reservoirs

The correlation result of the experimental research on establisment of the soil water retention curves (pF) at the droughty region of the South Central Vietnam has been closely (R2 from 0,96÷0,99). The calculated results of soil water capacity show that the rate of total available soil water compared with field capacity is fairly high, from 56,91% (layer 0÷10cm) to 64,64% (layer 0÷60cm); Readily available soil water (RAW) of some dry crops are as follows: with active roots from 0÷40cm, RAW of vine is the smallest, the next are in turn dragon and sugar-cane, RAW of jujubetree with active roots from 0÷60cm is medium, RAW of onion, garlic and vegetables with active roots from 0÷20 or 30cm are fairly small. These calculated and experimental results are very important in order to apply in determining soil moisture process for establishment of suitable irrigation schedule for popular dry crops at the droughty region of the South Central Vietnam.

From food deficit countries, Vietnam has become one of the leading exporters of agricultural products in the world. However, hydraulics work development is facing difficulties and challenges, such as climate change, the impact of upstream development, water security, etc ... In order to meet the requirements of agricultural restructuring, in line with the market driven mechanism and international integration, to identify 5 orientations in the future, including: Improving the efficiency of exploitation of hydraulics works, supply water for cash crops, aquaculture, dam safety and prevention of natural disasters.

District 7 is a new urban area, has a strategic position which is just the Southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City and also has many the river ports for the importing - exporting goods in the region and the world. This district is often flooded at the resident areas alonged on many routes such as Huynh Tan Phat, Dao Tri, Lam Van Ben, Le Van Luong, Tran Xuan Soan, Go O Moi... Through analysis and synthesis the degree levels of the objects surveyed/interviewed with 410 votes in the flooded areas by the tide, on the above roads of the District, to valuate the average damage and the relationship between the economic damage and flooding depth of households; trade; and the enterprises.

Anchoring reinforcement (rock bolts) is currently among important reinforcing solution available in the underground engineering, as it directly affects to the stresses, deformations and stability of structures, as well as construction costs. The working principle is that rock bolts anchor the lining to the surrounding rock mass forming a simultaneously-working structure, adding strength to the rock mass, and increasing the stability of the tunnel lining. This study employs the finite element method (FEM) to analyze the stability of an undergroundhydro power plantin different anchorschemes. The calculation results confirmed that it is necessary to investigate the influences of rock bolts to the stresses and deformations of underground structures in order to satisfy technical and economicconditions.

Mekong Delta is considered the center of the agricultural production, aquaculture in Vietnam. Drought situation combines with salinity intrusion is processing complexly in recent years, which caused big disadvantages to pressure on local ecomic, environment and social sectors and caused the conflicts on water uses. So that, the consideration and forecasting salinity intrusion in Mekong Delta is implementing, but it is difficult for the drought and its impacts, it’s specially in the forecasting. Through the surveying of damages caused by drought and salinity intrusion in Mekong Delta’s provinces, as well as the research to identify the drought index combined with salinity intrusion factor, the article presents the method and part of initial results regarding to the our research.

According to statistics, most of the delta pumping station was built on weak geological works and have large land submerged when the station stable calculations often do not consider the horizontal load. However, in recent years, due to climate change, some irrigation pump stations have led to a deeper place affected stations large horizontal load, can destabilize the works. The article summarizes the solutions used in reinforced piling oblique Nghi Xuyen pumping platform in Hung Yen province to overcome the instability caused by the horizontal load, ensure technical conditions and construction cost savings.
