The Vu Gia - Thu Bon river system is one of eight large river basins in Vietnam with a total annual flow of over 10 billion m3 of water. In recent years, the impact of climate change and sea level rise, the depletion of watersheds, or the construction of a series of major upstream hydropower projects have altered the flow of water downstream. This leads to frequent droughts and saline intrusion and has a great impact on irrigation water supply for the agricultural sector and especially downstream water supply. This problem causes many difficulties and challenges for the water supply sector in Da Nang and Quang Nam, especially in Danang, a large urban area with high population growth rate in recent years. Therefore, a comprehensive study and assessment of a comprehensive wing to identify the main factors affecting the surface water resources in this river basin from which to propose suitable response solutions is very necessary. This article will present some key findings on this issue.

Phu Quy is an island district of Binh Thuan province, it is about 400km from Truong Sa. With the marine radar station located on Phu Quy island, we can control the entire international maritime route from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean. Therefore, Phu Quy has an extremely important position in terms of security and defense, as well as the rear and transit center for the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa islands. Currently, Phu Quy is seriously eroded. In this paper, the author has applied the MIKE 21-SW wave model to calculate the wave propagation to determine the design wave parameters in the coastal areas of Phu Quy island, serving for calculate and design of coastal protection works on the island.

Basin of Se San River is one of large river basin of our country. Recently, disaster due to flooding has happened more and more serious, especially in Kon Tum Province. It has affected seriously to lives as well as property of people in downstream. Therefore, it is necessary to research, calculate evaluation of flooding stream on basin of Se San River under inter-reservoir operation procedure (Decision No.215/QD-TTg 2018 of the Prime Minister) for 8 reservoir: Thuong Kon Tum, Dak Bla 1, Plei Krong, Ialy, Se San 3, Se San 3A, Se San 4, Se San 4A to respond actively, reducing damages for downstream in case of flooding. In this article, we introduce MIKE model to calculate hydrologic, hydraulic power in flooding season and to simulate flooding stream when lakes open floodgates under scenarios built on basin of Se San River.

In recent years, the pillar dam (dap Tru do) has been widely applied and brought about great economic - technical effects.Specially for the dams which are contructed in coastal estuary areas. The central region has a relatively dense river system and is characterized by steep slopes, high floods during the rainy season and exhaustion in the dry season. The application of dams in constructing river basins in the Central Coast to prevent salinity and keep fresh water is an important task in the regional economic development strategy. This paper presents an overview of dam technology and analyzes the natural features as well as the prospects for designing and constructing river basins in the Central Coast.

Natural disasters, droughts and floods are complicated, not following the general timeless of weather in recent times. The layout of experiential production is no longer appropriate and management needs tools to assist in deciding appropriate production arrangements. Calculating, evaluating and providing information on water conditions as well as forecasting the short-term and long-term of water availability is urgently needed to meet the demands of the agriculture with water resources have changed a lot as in the past. This paper presents the results of MIKE-NAM model for medium and large reservoirs in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin and the surrounding area for steering water supply for agricultural production in 2017.

At present, the supply of clean water to people in mountainous areas of Danang are facing many difficulties, challenge, due to the large differences in terrain elevation, wide area range, sparse population distribution, far from sources of water supply of the City. The problem is to ensure 100% of people have access to clean water, therefore, there should be water supply solutions in place, effectively, take advantage of available water resources from the small streams of the local. In this paper, we refer to the results of research conducted at the City level, focusing on solutions that can exploit local water from small rivers and streams in accordance with conditions natural as well as living habits.

The South Central Coast consists of eight provinces and cities ranging from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, with a coastline of over 1,000 km, with many large bay lagoons, facilitating the favorable climate conditions for aquaculture development. The main focus is on intensive farming. The economic value of aquaculture makes up a very high proportion, contributing to the development of the region. However, in the present, the development of this industry is facing numerous difficulties and challenges. One of the major shortcomings is the lack of initiatives in saltwater sources (ensuring the flow, quantity and quality) as well as addressing environmental pollution and the spread of disease in farming area. This paper will address the above issues and introduce some of the world's and Vietnam's available sea water solutions that can be consulted for the South Central region.

Ensuring active supply of saltwater (enough flow and quality) plays an important rolein aquaculture development and raising. At present, the coastal area of ​​South Central is developing very strongly aquaculture because of the economic efficiency brought about. However, the issue of supplying clean water for aquaculture is facing many difficulties due to the massive and unplanned development and difficult to control, leading to waste water discharged into the water supply of the lower house, resulting in serious water pollution. weight. Along with that, there are currently no recommendations guiding the people who can exploit groundwater, areas that exploit surface water as well as calculate the design in a way. To address the issues of coastal clean water supply for the people, in the following sectionswe present the main findings of this solution as well as application of calculation, design and construction for a specific project in Quang Nam province, where the beach has high groundwater level , coarse-grained sand and off-shore areas.

Water balance calculations (CBN) can be developed fullyon the currentlypopular programming languages. In this study, the VB6 programming language is used as a tool to study, design and construct a computational tool (Application CBN - 2017), for the purpose of calculating water balance for reservoirs on areal-timebasis. Combining this application with the MIKE NAM flow model can produceeffective forecasting of water resources. In 2017 this application was used to serve water balance calculationfor small and medium-sizedwater reservoirs in the Vu Gia Thu Bon river basin and adjacent areas, as part of the regular task assigned by the Directorate of Water Resources. Calculated resultsinclude water volume and levelsat the end of each day, amount of water discharged through the spill, total daily water shortage, etc.; this research will contribute to a solution for the application of informatics technology in agriculture and irrigationsectors.

In recent days, the theory to caculate the horizontal load capacity of singlepile which has been popular for the types of pile with characteristic soil in construction. The use of Jet - grountingfor reinforcingsurface layer pile foundation is a relatively new solution in Vietnam. It is increased the horizontal load of works, especially the hydraulic works which the horizontal force is large. Selecting the appropriate calculation method as well as caculating the modulus of subgrade reaction (Ks) of the reinforcement layer which is supported to calculate the foundation design is favorable and effective. In this article, Author is concentrated to analyse caculating methods of the horizontal load capacity. After that, select to the caculating methods which is suitable for  Mekong Delta region. Beside, suggesting modulus of subgrade reaction (Ks) to representative soil in this region, soil layer is reinforced soil-cement, and how to caculate the the horizontal load capacity for popular piles.

Ly Son island dictrict was separated from Binh Son district of QuangNgai province in 1993. This island is also known as Cu Lao Re  located in the North East of QuangNgai province. In recent years, with the global climate change, the wave regime and shoreline current of Ly Son island have changed their frequency and intensity of impact on the island causing erosion, landslide, therefore the area of the island is gradually narrowing. By the mathematical model method, the article will simulate regimes of the wave and flow. The result will be the trends of waves, currents and maximum velocity values when they impact on  shoreline. Based  on the results of the study, managers will have adequate solusion for shoreline protecsion.

In recent years, drought and water shortage in the dry season in the Central Highlands has been getting worse. This article discusses the current state of water use and proposes solutions to develop small hydraulic work as collection, archive of surface water to create sources of surface water reserves for irrigation of the region where often face water shortages and droughts consistent with natural conditions and social in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
