Calculate for determining the appropriate water regime based on the revision of the water management subdivision for Melaleuca forest in U Minh Thuong National Park to meet the specific requirements: (i) the growth of Melaleuca; (ii) the biodiversity conservation; and (iii) the forest fire prevention. Based on the natural characteristic of the area, the growth and development features of the melaleuca tree, the habitat requirements to maintain the ecosystem, protect the peat layer and prevent forest fires, the author has been calculated and proposed the water levels should remain in the forest in the subdivisions over time in the year. Based on the 31-year rainfall data from Rach Gia station, calculate and suggest the times for water storage in high rainfall year, low rainfall year and average rainfall year satisfying the requirement of maintaining a reasonable water regime for the National Park.

A series of 140 physical experiments (scale 1/15) have been carried out to test 4 models of unconventional submerged breakwater in hydraulic wave tank. Recorded data have been anaylized and evaluated to define key factors influence transmission coefficency Kt, as the result an empirical equation of Kt has been proposed. The outcome has also shown that not only structural geometry but also oceanographic conditions (Hs, Tp), submerged level and also wave impact on slope via wave slope parameter (sm) could alternate wave dissipitation coefficient of the unconventional submerged breakwater.

Vietnam coastline is long, tropical climate and  marine flow nearby the coastline then there are high exploitation potential for marine products. However, the marine catches in recent decades are very strong, extirpation and no time and spaces for reproduction fish causing biological divesirty reduction, marine environmental destruction as well as lost of income from fish catchment in Ha Tien in perticular and in Vietnam coastal water in general. The authors have assess the status quo for catchment, environment and marine catchment in Ha Tien coastal water to find out the reasons for decrease of catchment product and fish species in Ha Tien coastal water. The paper has initially proposed some of the solutions for marine environmental protection, artificial reefs for fish and step by step reproduct the biological diversity in Ha Tien coastal water.

From 2005, the erosion rate at south coast of Ca Mau Cape has accelerated rapidly. In 2012, based only on practical experience and for urgent response to the situation, the local government had built special framed breakwater of about 1,700 m long to protect the coast of Ca Mau resort and it initially has promoted anti-erosion effects at the beach behind. This paper provides assessments and predictions of its impact on the hydro-morphodynamical regime of Ca Mau Cape coastal zone by mathematical modeling. The simulation results and surveying at site show that the rate of sea bed erosion outside the framed breakwater is accelerating rapidly. It can be a factor causing instability of the framed breakwater. Beside that, the framed breakwater almost blocked the inner mangrove forest area and it has only the local short-term protection value. Based on analyses of shoreline dynamics, coastal hydro-morphodynamical around Ca Mau Cape and topographical features of Ca Mau alluvial platform, the authors proposed a breakwater for preventing wave, training coastal current, restoring and growing the mangrove to protect Ca Mau Cape in combination with the tourism development strategy of Ca Mau Cape in order to sustainably develop this Vietnamese special region. The paper also provides the results of forecasting the impact of the proposed breakwater by mathematical modeling and the analysis of this engineering effectiveness.

After opening the navigation channel for large tonnage ships to the ports of Hau river about 10 months, then river mouth navigation channel (Tat canal) is accreted, which creates many of difficult  for ships to the ports of Hau river. This paper  analyzes, evaluates and compares sedimentation researches at Dinh An estuaryand Tat canal, simultanous calculates the sedimentation quantitive, which based on the cross-sectional measurement data of 1/500 vertical scale and of horizontal 1/200 scale in the scope of 40 hectares to determine the sedimentation quantitative at the area of navigation channel

Nowadays, the main fresh watersources for domesticw water supply in Phu Quoc island are from rainfall and private drill wells. The annual average rainfall is rather high about 3,000mm/year but there is  the different  bettwen dry and rainy seasons. The rivers and streams are full of fresh water in rainy season, meanwhile  many rivers and streams are  dry or lack of fresh water in dry season. The ground water is very limitted and imprtant then it should be strictly protected. The authors evaluate the use of surface water, compute hydrological conditions and water balance belonging to the socio-econemic development plan to the year of 2020 in order to propose the methods for sustainable useof surface water in Phu Quoc island.

This article introduces a submerged complex with solid piles breakwater which could be flexibly implemented in bank protection and shoreline correction applications. Scientific approaching based on small wave theory and energy conservation equations for perpendicular wave transmit via breakwater (with and without piles) integrate with record data from hydraulic wave tank to propose empirical equation. This equation would describe energy dissipiation processes while waves transmit via submerge breakwater both for with and without piles.

Phytoplankton data were collected with standard equipment and procedures over the observation period in Nam Yet island from 2013 to 2014. A total of 301 species of phytoplankton were found, they were of 4 phyla, 8 classes, 38 orders, 61 families, 100 genera were identified includes 152 taxa belonging to Dinophyta, 142 to Bacillariophyta, 6 to Cyanobacteria and 1 to Chrysophyta. The species composition structure of Phytoplankton in Nam Yet Island, wrong not much different from the Central and Southern coast of Vietnam. 132 species were additional for phytoplankton of Nam Yet Island, Truong Sa Archipelago, mainly focused on Dinophyta and Bacillariophyta. There are 34 species were newly recorded for marine planktonic communities of the Vietnam. The diversity index (H ') and value of diversity (Dv) for phytoplankton community of Nam Yet island, level of diversity is low (medium and low).

Because of both the brackishwater-aquaculture development and the unplanned pond digging in shrimp culture, the natural environment was impacted, and the protected forests were harmful. Due to these issues, Kien Giang Province’s aquaculture did not sustainably develop, especially is industrial shrimp culture. It is currently the urgent problem to resolve. The idea of taking direct sea-water by pipeline system for industrial shrimp culture alter the traditional water-supply solutions considered the important key to help to solve the urgent problems of Kien Giang Province’s aquaculture. The study results showed that the pipeline construction is not only economically efficient but also stably integrated irrigation-aquaculture. In addition, it protects the environment effectively.

The Ca Mau cape and its arounded coastal zone are forming and growing on the alluvial platform which had been built by Mekong River sediment. It is unique piece stretching out to the southwest to form the Ca Mau Peninsula and making the Vietnamese Mekong Delta had form of strong axial asymmetry. This is due to the great contrasted hydrodynamic regime in the western and eastern coastal seas around Ca Mau Peninsula. This paper will provide assessments of hydrodynamic and wave regimes in the coastal zone around Ca Mau cape and its surroundings by simulations based on the MIKE 21/3 Couple Model FM model that it was well calibrated and validated to cover more information and databases needed for more effective in planning, exploiting and protecting this region. The coastal zone around Ca Mau cape has complex hydrodynamic regime with large spatial and temporal variation due to the water volume has to flow around the strongly convex to the sea and big structure with the huge wide delta front and steep sea bed at foot of vast underwater alluvial. The coastal hydrodynamics in east coast zone is twice more power than that in the west coast zone. There is a distinct seasonal contrast: in the dry season, the east coast of Ca Mau cape is very lively, but the west coast is fact quiet, and vice versa during the rainy season. Especially, there is a sudden decrease in current speed when the water is flowing from the East Sea, arounding Ca Mau cape and comming into the West Sea. It is the main mechanism for forming and developing north mudflat of Ca Mau cape that is named as Ca Mau alluvial flatform.
